Unit 9
Unit 9 Brief
Unit 9 tasks me with creating an original character and animating it to have an idle, walk and run animation in a small environment which suits the characteristics of the model. This will be done by following the normal procedure of completing pre production work such as brainstorming different ideas and create mood boards and concept art using those ideas. Research into other similar games and possible legal or Ethical issues will also be required making sure to meet standard expectations and requirements for a games development. Once this has been done the video showcasing the animated character in the scene will be uploaded to YouTube and an evaluation of the unit will be written covering the development process and any issues which I encountered.

Analysis of Similar Products
Nothing which is almost like mine seems to exist on the unreal marketplace however, there are similar assets across different asset packs on the market. Mostly to do with fishing and a Cartoony low poly style.

A game on steam which is simillar is Cat Goes fishing however the difference is that the game is in a hand drawn 2D style while y asset pack is 3D and features more than just a lake as it comes with a small environment that can be used as well. with more time I would have liked to add some more features.





I found more similar stuff to my idea from sketchfab which I thought was really cool and helped me come up with what style I wanted to create my asset pack in and how I wanted to design everything in the end.

Chosen concepts and Justification
Justification
The reason I chose these particular designs for my idea was because I felt like they worked together and considering my time constraints this environment idea looked like it wouldn't take as much time to create as some of the others may have. I also chose this design for my character out of the early sketches as it looked like it was the most realistic design of a cat if they could walk around stood up.
